This is a sample itinerary from one of the many cruise tours available to you for your next vacation to the last frontier, Alaska. The best way to see Alaska is by combining a cruise with a land tour either before or after the cruise. This allows you to see the amazing landscape and Denali! If you don't have the time, there are many cruises both one way and round trip to Alaska. We can help you decide. Cruises run May through September.
This sample itinerary takes you on land first with a visit to Denali and then a cruise through the inside passage.

See Alaska by Land and Sea, Denali National Park, Hubbard Glacier, Amazing Landscapes and Wildlife. This is the trip of a lifetime!
Start your trip on land in Anchorage, Alaska's largest city. Head to Denali where you will stay in the lodge set above the Nenana River Canyon and just steps away from Denali National Park. Here you will have an array of excursion options. Your two night stay will include a full day at Denali National Park with a Natural History Tour. Learn more about the park's animals, plants, and geological features. Be sure to watch for glimpses of Denali as well as Denali's "Big Five"; moose, caribou, bears, wolves and Dall sheep. Later, you may want to simply relax with a glass of wine on the deck overlooking the Nenana River.
Head to Anchorage where you will catch your cruise. Among the amazing sites on your cruise, you will see Hubbard Glacier, Glacier Bay, Mendenhall Glacier, beautiful and majestic fjords, and the inside passage.
Catch a humpback wales and orcas swimming and playing, Try the Whitepass scenic railway with cliff-hanging turns, dog sledding, glacier flightseeing, kayaking, and hiking to name a few.
Day 1: Land - Anchorage
Arrive in Anchorage, Alaska's largest city and get settled in the Hotel Captain Cook for an overnight stay. You might enjoy getting out to see the shops, restaurants and cultural attractions of this surprisingly metropolitan city.
Day 2: Land - Mt McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge
Board a motorcoach for your journey along the George Parks Highway to the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge. You may catch your first views of incredible Denali along the way. Sit and gaze at the majesty of "The Great One" from the lodge's treehouse designed and built by Pete Nelson of Animal Planet's Treehouse Masters. You can choose optional excursions or simply enjoy the grounds of your lovely lodge.
Day 3: Land - Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge
This morning is free to relax or opt for an excursion. Witness the majestic scenery en route to your next stop, the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge - set above the Nenana River Canyon and just steps away from Denali National Park. Once settled in, visit the tour desk to help you choose from an array of excursions. Be sure to check out Fannie Q's Saloon, or sit outside at a fireside patio.
Day 4: Land - Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge
Enjoy a full day of attractions in Denali National Park with a Natural HIstory Tour included to learn more about the park's animals, plants, and geological features. Be sure to watch for glimpses of Denali as well as Denali's "Big Five"; moose, caribou, bears, wolves and Dall sheep. Later today, you may want to simply relax with a glass of wine on the deck overlooking the Nenana River.
Day 5: Land/Sea - Anchorage
Today you will take the exclusive Direct to the Wilderness rail service through some of the best wilderness as you head toward Whittier, where your cruise ship awaits.
Day 6: Cruising - Hubbard Glacier
Over six miles wide and nearly 500 feet high, Hubbard Glacier fills the head of Yakutat Bay. In 1986, it was called the "Galloping Glacier" when it surged nearly 47 feet in one day.
Day 7: Cruising - Glacier Bay
This is an ice heaven of tidewater glaciers, where humpback whales and orcas roam and ribbons of blue carve through a fjordland of astonishing beauty. These moving rivers of ice called glaciers confront you with their majesty and power that is almost physical. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and state park with park ranger available to answer any questions.
Day 8: Cruising - Visit Skagway, Alaska
At the northernmost point of the Inside Passage, is the main port of call for cruise ships, and was the trading post serving the Klondike Gold Rush in 1897. Walk on your own, buy souvenirs, or try excursions such as Whitepass scenic railway with cliff-hanging turns, dog sledding, glacier flightseeing.
Day 9: Cruising - Visit Juneau Alaska
Accessible only by sea or air, Alaska's 'Gateway to the Glaciers' is the state's scenic capital, situated among spectacular mountains on the shores of the Gastineau Channel. Enjoy enjoying the shopping, dining and picturesque surroundings. Mendenhall Glacier, Alaska's most visited glacier due to its easy access and proximity to the city, is a highly worthwhile excursion. Popular excursions include Helicopter rides, fishing, whale-watching, hiking and kayaking.
Day 10: Cruising - Visit Ketchikan Alaska
The salmon capital of the world' started as a summer fish camp on the shores of Ketchikan Creek used by the Tlingit natives, and slowly became a major salmon canning centre. Popular excursions to consider include a visit to totem bright state park with the worlds oldest collection of totem poles, a ride on a Crab Boat from the Deadliest catch, Seaplane rides, and lumberjack show.
Day 11: Cruising - A Day at Sea
Today is a day to relax, take in the views, and embrace all that you have seen on this memorable vacation.
Day 12 : Vancouver, BC Canada
Nicknamed Hollywood North for the ever-present film crews, Canada's west coast gem of Vancouver is young, thriving, and diverse. It boasts the perfect combination of wild natural beauty and all the modern conveniences. The cruise port is downtown so take some time to see the city. Vancouver is a walkable city with trendy neighborhoods, wonderful restaurants, and beautiful parks.
