Come along with us to Ireland. See group trips to Ireland here.

Between Belfast and Dublin lies the Antrum Coast, a beautiful coastline of castles, ruins, lush green landscape, and the Irish Sea. It is beautiful like all of Ireland and definitely a recommended drive.

As part of a tour, we were taken to this small, unassuming Inn. Like many places in Ireland, it looks old and untouched but offers something special inside. I love little gems like this and I think you will too.

The Pub

It's a family-run traditional Irish pub with music on some nights. Awards include 'Pub of The Year', and 'Best Beer Garden of the year' and received The James Joyce award for the most authentic Irish pub.

They have a well-stocked bar of craft beers including the locally brewed Linn Duachaill beer, Dan Kelly cider, and the renowned Listoke Gin. distilled in a 200-year-old barn. The pub was established in 1770 giving it the charm of an old Irish pub. The proprietors today are Paul and Ann O'Neill, who have built the business since 1976.

The pub is so full of memorabilia you could just stare at it to see each unique piece of history.

The Restaurant

The restaurant is called, Linn Duachaill. and the decor is rustic and nautical with lots of wood, nautical paintings, and lobster traps. run by the same family for years. The owner, Paul, greeted us and showed us original pictures of the Inn.

During our visit, I found the service and the food good. I would definitely go back.

The restaurant which uses locally sourced food has won awards including National Geographic World's best places to eat, Irish Restaurant awards for Best casual dining, and Best National Pub of the year.

We arrived at low tide and our view was the lobster pots, long stretches of sand before Dundalk Bay, and Mourne and Cooley mountains in the distance. It reminds me of Cape Cod in New England in the fall. For the best views, try to time it when the tide is in.

Turquoise blue picnic tables line the back of the restaurant and seem a bit out of place but I can see why visitors would want to have a casual drink and dine with that view.

The menu was set as part of the tour but they also offer a standard menu, seasonal and seafood specials. We started with Bulmers Cider which became a favorite on our trip.

Mussels

I started with mussels. I love seafood and especially love mussels so for me to say these were the best I've ever had is a high compliment. They were presented in a light sauce that was so good I really wanted to use the bread to dip and finish every last drop.

Dessert was simple, bite-sizeand traditional.
