Winter is not quite the same when you live in Florida. But it is one of the reasons I live here. That said there is something about a blanket of fresh snow that makes me long for those days curled up on the sofa looking out the window with a warm cup of hot chocolate.

Reykjavik, Iceland
There are many reasons to visit Reykjavik, and the rest of Iceland for that matter, in the winter. See the jaw-dropping Northern Lights, enormous glaciers, black sand beaches or gushing waterfalls to name a few. While daylight may be short, there is still plenty of time to discover the natural wonders that seem to come alive in the winter months. And with daylight short, you have a better chance to see the northern lights.
Dolomites, Italy
Located in the northern Italian Alps, the Dolomites are a UNESCO-certified mountain range that make up the beautiful backdrop in the winter. Offering some of the best mountain adventures in Europe, this region is a unique blend of Austrian and Italian cultures, evident in the food and language. The city of Bolzano is known as the gateway to the Dolomites.
